While managing hotels in Paris, France, Prem, the pickleball guru developed his paddle skills in ping-pong, where he won the silver medal in the French National Games. He moved to the US with his wife in 2007, publishing a monthly parenting magazine. An avid tennis player, he was convinced to try pickleball and immediately fell in love with the sport. He began playing and practicing up to 10 hours a day.
Prem traveled around the US, competing on the national level. A fellow player asked Prem for some advice on how to improve his game, and when his advice worked, his friend dubbed Prem to be his PIckleball Guru. He also convinced Prem to turn pickleball into his career! Prem began teaching and coaching pickleball throughout the US (he considers himself to be the Original Traveling Pickleball Coach!), and in 2014, published Smart Pickleball.
Since he began teaching pickleball, he has helped thousands of players improve their pickleball game, and his love for the sport continues today. When not teaching or playing pickleball, Prem spends as much time as he can with his other loves, his children Shanti and Sid.
On a personal level, we are pleased to note that we helped Prem way back when, helping him organizew perhaps his first clinic in Bend, Oregon. We then continued to work with pickleball guru as he worked to insure the clinics brought full satisfaction to his many clients. We’re super-pleased to have been involved with him for that length of time, and consider him one of the best one-to-one or small-group pickleball coaches around, as well as being (of course) a superior clinician and boot-camper. We have taken both personal lessons and articipated in his group lessons and clinics and profited from all of those venues ` and from his patience and communication skill. He is definitely one of the coaches we recommend, especially at the levels up to 4.0 where his strengths are superior.
Lastly, he plays pretty good, too. A.J. even had the opportunity to play one 5.0 level tournament with him a couple of years back. That didn’t go too well for Prem Carnot, the pickleball guru, actually. Prem never saw a ball. But A.J. had fun.Overall Site Map
